Start with the complete part number.
The prefix is a starting point. The full number, suffixes and governing document are the basis for reviewing your requirement.
MS part-number requirements
Share the MS number exactly as shown on your drawing or purchase requirement, including every suffix. Include the required document revision when specified.
National Aerospace Standard
An AIA standards family that includes precision fasteners. Your enquiry should identify the complete part number, rather than the standards family alone.
The document and the part number
Certain military specifications were converted to inch-based NASM documents. AIA explains that procurement continues under the MS part number. Check the governing document for your particular requirement.
Working with an AN designation?
You can also submit an AN-designated requirement for review. Include the complete number and governing drawing or specification; do not change a prefix based on resemblance to another part.

Can a similar part be substituted?
Matching dimensions or appearance alone does not establish interchangeability. Any alternative requires review against the governing document and approval by the customer’s responsible engineering authority.
Does every item include all certificates?
Specify the documents you need when enquiring. The scope and availability of documentation are reviewed for each requirement and confirmed in the quotation.
How do I send a parts list or drawing?
The form opens a message in your email app. Attach your parts list, drawings and quality requirements before sending it.
